You’ll be relieved to hear I know exactly how you feel. Because I’ve been there. When I was just 17, I started having to rush to the toilet right after eating most things. (Is this familiar to you too?) I had just started university and at first, I thought I'd picked up a bug – but it just didn't stop.
Everything I ate caused me pain, until I was down to just 2 “safe” foods. My body had changed crazily. I’d lost so much weight I couldn't recognise myself. People often said I was “skin and bones.”
Then my whole world crumbled. I was admitted to hospital, and after all the tests (scopes, bloods, poo samples…) they confirmed I had an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) called Crohn's disease. I was left thinking: Is this for life?
I trained to become a Registered Dietitian and understand my condition better and help others but after working in the NHS for over a decade, I still struggled to help people when they needed help the most.
So I decided to break free from NHS constraints and make a change. Using my expertise as a Registered Dietitian, I decided to dedicate myself to my private practice – The IBD Dietitian. Now I use what I know in the most impactful way – giving you direct access to me, right from the beginning of your IBD journey (without the waiting lists). I give you the exact support I was once desperate for, that still isn’t available for most NHS patients – even 20 years after my own diagnosis.
And just like I became my own nutrition expert, I am your nutrition expert too. I’m here to empower you.

I can now eat almost everything I ate prior to diagnosis – with just a few tweaks! (Yes – this is possible for us)
I can still eat fibre including beans, pulses, and almost all fruit and vegetables (if prepared correctly) – despite being sent home on a low fibre diet sheet all those years ago
I’m a foodie! I can even use plenty of herbs and spices so my food tastes great and I THOROUGHLY enjoy it!
